Dinner Club

Another night of good food and wine! Rae made "Barbecue Shrimp," beans, and french bread for dipping! YUM!

Wines: our rating on a 1-5 scale . . .

Bogle- Merlot: somewhat dry, I gave a 3.
3 Blind Moose- Merlot: not too sweet, not too dry, I gave a 3.5.

. . . ha ha, since we definitely know what were talking about.

Friday: Opened presents from Grady, who is one of the THE BEST present givers in the world!

Saturday: Pool party at mom and dad's in Aiken!

Saturday Night: more presents, cake, and cocktails with the fam!

Sunday: A late Father's Day celebration!

Sunday Afternoon: Lunch with Michelle and Maranda at Teresa's!

Grillin' Girls!

Last night we decided to GRILL! The menu included Italian grilled chicken and vegetables and brown rice and beans . . . with, of course, WINE!

Dessert included a strawberry topped cheesecake . . . with TRICK candles!! Unfortuately, we failed to get a picture of the placemat almost catching on fire!! For future reference, there IS a warning label on the box.

Happy Birthday to ME . . . at The Melting Pot!

YUM, how I LOVE the Melting Pot! I've decided EVERYONE must go to a fondue restaurant at least ONCE in their lifetime. It isn't only because the food is so WONDERFUL- but because you actually HAVE to take time to enjoy it. It's shameful how often we forget to do that.

If you know Grady, you know his love of cigars! In fact, we have entire room devoted to them! Again, I wish I had a before picture- but Mrs. Ann took this old, brown and broken coffee table (of Rae's *smile*) and created THIS! HOW FABULOUS!

Welcome Home, Lilly!

Our niece Lilly recently took a trip to France for 10 days and returned home Saturday! We went to the airport to welcome her home!!

Summer Project II

Ahh! What a relief! Finally DONE! Though, please don't think we are two raging alcoholics! My wine cork collage just couldn't have been a success without Rae and, yet again, Mrs. Ann's contributions!! :)

Thursday Night Dinner Club!

Grady's recent resurgence in tennis has given me the perfect opportunity to, what else, catch up with friends! Several months ago Jess, Rae, Alanna, and I created our own, well . . . dinner club every Thursday night. Last night's dinner included Mediterranean chicken with couscous and edemame.

So, while Grady partakes in his passion for tennis, I partake in my passion for . . . food and wine. Ha! Ha!

Summer Project I

Thanks to Mrs. Ann's (my mother-in-law) GREAT find, I was able to redo an old bar for our dining room the other week! I don't have a "before" picture, but I sanded and painted it! Though I was a little nervous about the color at first, I was extremely happy with how it turned out!

Look, I told you there's no babies on this blog.

It is the summer . . . so why not?

Although being a kindergarten teacher can keep me RATHER busy and most often tired, I do have the luxury of having the summers off. This, of course, leaves me with quite a bit of free time. With this in mind (as well as a considerable amount of pestering from my sister to join the "blog" craze), I have decided to START MY VERY OWN BLOG!

I mean, it is the summer . . . so why not!
