Play Day with Asher

Kristen, who I went to graduate school with several years ago just so happens to be a stay at home mama, too! (And, you know we're always looking for some fun new buddies to play with!)

Asher & Ross were adorable together!

Thanks for everything, guys! We had a blast!

Happy Birthday, Ryder!

Ross was thrilled to be invited to her very first FRIEND birthday party!
And, it was quite possibly one of the cutest I'd been to!

It also happened to be the very first cake Ross has ever had!
(I had intended on her waiting until her little party, but geez, we'd be depriving her in a situation like this!)
Needless to say, she was quite glad we made that decision.

Happy Birthday, Ryder!
You throw a great bash!

Conversations with Durham

Ross: "Durham, if you can push that, then I'm sure you can push this."

Ross: "Yeah, see. I told you."
Durham: "It's . . . just . . . a little hard . . ."

Durham: "Look, see here . . . surely one of these buttons makes it go."

Durham: "Sorry, Ross."

Ross: "Geez."

Ross: "Man. Thank goodness for Cheerios."

What's so good about getting up at 6:30 a.m. in the morning?

. . . that sweet, baby smile!

And, although the sun still hadn't made it up . . .

we're happily already playing.

(And, P.S. yes, I did get a small bumper for the crib. Not because I like the look, but to contain the plugs. It has made (the already difficult job of) changing the crib sheet a nightmare, but the plugs stay put!)

Sign #2: Baby

Ross loves babies! She loves to look at them. She loves to touch them. And now, she loves to sign them!

(Baby: like rocking a baby)

Now, as with the other sign (more), she has adapted her own version.
(I read this is normal in my baby signing book.)

But, she's made it very clear she's "talking" about babies!

Ross, this is for you . . .

so that one day . . .

when you're cursing your father for not
letting you stay out past your curfew . . .

or go to the party that everyone else is going to . . .

or wear that outfit . . .

you can look back and see . . .

what a sweet daddy you really have.

Sick Baby

This week we discovered Ross has RSV.
I'll admit, I was taken of guard to hear that from the doctor. Honestly, I was thinking she may have an ear infection. They sent us home with a nebulizer (to which I was completely unexperienced with) and told me I needed to use it 3 times a day.

Thank goodness my sister suggested I turn on Baby Einstein to help with this.

Though, somehow, through all this sickness . . . Ross seems to act completely normal. She laughs and plays and talks just like she always does and really hasn't complained once.

. . . especially when there's food involved.

10 Months Old

Here are a few happenings this month:

Pointing to things (and babbling about them)
Here she is pointing to the babies on the wall.

Waving and saying, "Hey!"
It's the funniest thing. In fact, Ross frantically started waving and saying
"Hey" to a grumpy looking old man at the store the other day . . .
his frown quickly turned upside down. :)

Saying "Mama"
Okay, now I'm not totally convinced she's actually referring to me when she says it, but it sure is a sweet sound.

I'm so excited and yet so sad all at the same time to be planning her 1st birthday party now . . . I still just can't believe it. I really do treasure every second with her, as I know these last few baby days are slipping right out of my hands. I feel so blessed to have her and hold her every single day.

She is certainly one sweet, baby girl.

Trip to the Mountains!

We love going to the mountains!!

(This picture cracks me up!)

Especially when there's family involved!

The New Car

"This is great, mama!
Really great . . ."

"Wait. Why'd we stop?
Maybe I need to turn this key again . . ."

"Or maybe I should mess with this thing over here . . ."

"No! It's you, isn't it?
Can't you put that camera down and help out a little?!?!"

"Geez."

"Yes. Okay.
Now we're talkin."

HELLO, Sippy Cup!

It finally looks as though . . .

. . . we have a successful sippy cup drinker!
