The Cocks ROCK!

Since the open of the new store, it's been a little more difficult for us to get to the games this year . . . so we took full advantage of yesterday's game against Miss. St. and made a full day of it!

A visit with the fam!

Grady's Lastest Venture

If you know Grady, then you know he's always got something else up his sleeve. He is the epitome of a "businessman," and certainly has never been afraid to try something new.

He's been working on an online lighter store for a couple of months now and yesterday it was officially opened!

Check it out.

Labor Day Project

While Grady aspired to bring in bored men on their day off over at The Maduro Room . . . I was at home thinking of everything imaginable I could be doing instead of studying for the PLT (a test teachers take that I know no one has any desire to read about).

Anyway, during my usual coffee drinking/search
(okay, shop) the internet ritual, I just happened to run across Anthropologie's (most fabulous) website. After rummaging through the home decorating sections, I was inspired by (some may say "stole") an idea from some of their wall art. Again, looking for things to do (because studying for the PLT certainly wasn't something I needed to do), I decided to create my own version and avoid spending the $216 it would have cost me at Anthropologie.

Suddenly, I remembered Mrs. Ann had sent us home the day before with 2 big bags full of fabric scraps- that I had full intentions of taking straight to my kindergarten class. Instead I ran out to the car, brought them in the house and dumped both bags on the living room floor . . . and started cutting . . .

. . . and cutting . . .

. . . and cutting.

Until somehow I managed to create 2 in my series . . .
(okay, Anthropologie's series)
.

All while not studying for the PLT.

Mary Margarette's Day!

We were thrilled to be at sweet little Mary Margarette's baptism Sunday.

She was thrilled as well.

Also during our visit, Grady's mom surprised us with an old suitcase filled with
Grady's old things she had recently found . . .

. . . to which Grady found it necessary to immediately try them all on . . .

. . . which was thoroughly entertaining.

Apparently, those were the days . . .
