Vegas, Here We Come!

Thanks to the annual cigar convention this month, Grady and I and Jennifer and Travis are headed to VEGAS! Jennifer and I, never having been there, are most excited, but feel a little unprepared and not totally aware of what to expect. As usual, I've got my "Fodor" tourist book . . . but would love to get any advice you guys may have!

Ironically, the annual Kindergarten convention is also held the very same week in Vegas . . . though I don't believe I'll have much time for all that . . .

Birthday Surprise!

Grady surprised me with a quick trip
to Charleston on my birthday!

How lucky can a gal get?

Here We Go . . .

It's been no secret that Grady and I have been wanting to get out closer to the store for quite some time now. In fact, it was our original intentions to be there 3 years ago when we were married, but God apparently had another plan and led us in a different direction at that time . . . so we went with it.

70 kindergarteners, 2 growing businesses, and 1 wild dog later . . . we've decided we're going to make it happen.

Yep. Grady and I are excited (and a little nervous) to say, our house is officially on the market.

To the Beach and Back.

Off to the Beach . . .

. . . Hilton Head, that is.
My mom's been planning a "girls" week at the beach for her and Jennifer and I (and the kids, of course) for quite some time now. (Although, I'm not quite sure if it wasn't just a rouge to spend more time with the grandchildren.)

In the meantime, one of Grady's cigar buds walked into the store and offered him 2 free BOX SEAT tickets to the Pearl Jam concert tonight.

(Why, God, why?)

Anyways, have a fab week!

Bathroom Drama

After 3 years in this house, it finally came to my attention that our bathroom needed some wall art.

And you know me . . . cheap as they come.

A few months ago I painted these . . .

. . . and for some reason I was never quite satisfied with them (hence why you never saw them on the blog). I kept feeling like it needed something more . . . maybe some words . . . or even stamping a bunch random letters on the background.

Finally, I came up with this.

No Van Gogh, but it'll do.

A (more) Fitting Rug

As seen on a previous post, I've recently found a couple of ottomans from the thrift store. I threw the doormat (you see here) down at the time . . . knowing I'd eventually need something larger.

It's no doubt there are some cute outdoor rugs out there (many at a high price, of course, and none of which that claim to stay clean (-looking) around a wild, ravenous dog all day). So I sought out to find something relatively cheap as well as something that I knew would remain somewhat attractive.

Nothing.

Finally, I resorted to what a knew best . . . my $6 "Pier 1" doormats. I love them. Having 3 already, I know how (deceptively) clean they stay.

Copying a similar pattern seen in "Better Homes and Gardens," I put my . . . excuse me, Salsa's new outdoor rug together.

Now, I do believe, we're good to go!

What a hard life.

Mountain Trip

We were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to spend some time in the mountains this weekend with the fam. It's always a fun time!

School's OUT!

Yep. That's right. School's OUT!

And of course, you know what that means . . .

Thrifting goes into overdrive.

Oddly, I've recently had an obsession for coat racks that I can't explain.

Thank goodness I found this one a few weeks ago . . .

. . . however, brass . . . I don't do.

Luckily though, bright and bold, I do.

(Dad and Jack, I assure you this has nothing to do with Clemson.)

HELLO summer!

Rhythm on the River

Saturday we took advantage of the great weather and headed downtown to the Rhythm on the River concert.

Hard to beat a free concert and cold beer.
