Saturday Dinner

We were SO excited to have Carrie, Tanya, Damon, and little Pierce over for dinner Saturday! It's been months since we've been able to get together, and it was WONDERFUL catching up! We will, no doubt, have to do it again soon!

Mountain Weekend

While Dave took care of the store, Grady and I went to Boone to celebrate Mrs. Ann's birthday!You can't see it, but it's snowing!

After Two Weeks . . .

So, we have been working with Salsa for 2 weeks now . . . and I have to admit . . . she has achieved quite a few things! She is walking a little better on a leash (beside us, not in front of us), I am able to make her sit and stay while I walk around her 4 times, and here in these pictures, is her actually relaxing on the porch (as opposed to her licking me and up in my face)! Though, I do have to confess, although you may not see it, I have the secret weapon in my hand- which she HATES!!! THE CAN! One shake of my simple aluminum can and pennies, and she will immediately stop! I love it! Though, at this point, thinking I may be using this the rest of her life! :)

Alex's First Visit to Kindergarten!

My mom, my grandmother, and Alex came to visit us at Rice Creek today! My mom read a quick story to the kids before they were sent off to center time to play with Alex!

The kids were so funny with him! The girls especially, had no problem showing him how to be a kindergartener!!

One Down . . .

So . . . it began. We had our very first lesson last night. Needless to say, both Grady and I agreed, our trainer Julie seemed a little overwhelmed with Salsa. I don't think she was expecting her to be quite as hyper as she IS! BUT- she stuck to it . . . and to be honest, I could see a bit of difference in her walking on a leash. She ALWAYS pulls and tugs and MUST be the leader . . . though last night she was actually walking beside us! THIS was an improvement! She also gave us a few ideas about her jumping on people . . . as well as a "clicker"- you know those noise makers used to be associated with something "good." It's really interesting. At this point, Grady and I are both very motivated and are excited to work with her . . . of course, this is day one.
