We Did It!

Okay, okay. I know what you're thinking...because, well, I'm thinking the same thing...

a fluke...a stoke of luck...a coincidence...

However, this week Ross absolutely, positively tee teed in the potty.

This is what happened...

FIRST TIME: When Ross woke up Saturday morning, I went in her room to get her out of her crib as usual. I felt her diaper and discovered it was relatively dry...which prompted me to ask her, "Ross, do you want to try and tee tee in the potty?" She responded with a quick, "Yes!"

She sat down on the potty while I read her a book. Not even half way through, she looked up at me with a horrified expression, and we both listened to the trickling sound. I, of course, began cheering and clapping which immediately brought a smile to her face. After we cleaned up, she jumped around the room shouting and smiling with pride.

SECOND TIME: Ross usually lets us know that brushing her teeth is NOT her thing. And, I don't know if it was simply to get out of brushing this particular time or if she really and truly needed to go, but while brushing on Monday night, she said, "No, mama, no...I want to sit on the potty." And, as you would imagine...it worked. Right away we got up and sat on the potty...and again, I got out a book and read. Sure enough, about half way through, we heard that lovely trickling sound yet again! 

I still don't know what to make of it.

She's been talking about the potty...and tee teeing...and poopies for months and months now, but I've always been too scared to start the training...
afraid it might just be too early...

fearing that we'd all just end up frustrated. 

I guess for right now...we'll just celebrate the moment.
