After a visit to the doctor's office yesterday, it seems as though I am already dilated 2 cm., and Ross looks as if she has already positioned herself ready for arrival. She was absolutely positive she wouldn't last to the due date. In the hopes of keeping her in a little longer, the doctor has put me on bed rest.
Again, with my sister being early, I really and truly am not surprised. I was hoping it wouldn't be the case, but deep down, I knew it was.
Luckily, I did prepare my classroom almost totally for an emergency departure . . . but I hadn't had a chance to say good-bye to the kids . . . and I can't help but be pretty sad about that. However, I did spend most of my evening last night writing a letter to the parents.
I can't tell you I'm not a bit nervous. I'm still very unsure what to expect. I do not like the fact that I'm completely and totally on edge, thinking I may be on my way to the hospital at any second. That was not in the plan. My plan consisted of a leisurely week before birth cleaning and mentally preparing. I can't clean . . . and my mind doesn't seem to be completely functioning at the moment.
I can't deny, though, I'm pretty darn excited, too. This baby girl is almost in my arms, and from what I hear, there's no better feeling than that.

Awww Holly! That is exciting! I hope you got Ross's gift from me last weekend, but I do still have something else that I just finished for her last night. I will try to get it dropped in the mail as soon as I can! Hang in there! I'll be thinking about all of you!
there absolutely is no better feeling! don't stress too much... i was dilated 2 cm for over two weeks while still working full time and we still had to induce. ross will come whenever she's ready and you'll do great!
Thank you! Your comments are making me feel better!!
Enjoy this time to rest. There won't be much time for that once baby girl arrives. :-)
Hang in there! She'll come when she's ready and like you said you'll have that sweet baby girl in your arms and nothing else will matter!!
I was put on bed rest at 35 weeks and Annabelle ended up being 6 days late. It will go by quickly. I made tons of things for Annabelle during the day. I am excited for you.
That is wonderful to hear! I think that's exactly what I might be doing!!
Jennifer told me the news. I'm thinking about you and hoping little Ross stays in a little longer for you. Jennifer is right - take this time to rest! Watch movies, read lots of books, surf the internet, etc. Its the last "me time" you'll have for a while.
Can't wait to meet her!
