Disney Trip 2012

I KNEW this was going to be a good year for Disney for Ross!
She watches Mickey Mouse Clubhouse way more than normal parents would
let her and can tell you the plot to almost every princess movie out.
It was a shoe-in.

Every year we do at least one "Character Meal" with the kids.
They are fabulous.
It costs a little, but it's worth it!

Each character comes by your table for plenty of pictures and hugs
...all while you eat!

We've chosen "Chef Mickey" 2 years in a row now,
mainly because it has all the "main" characters.

Ross was all about the rides this year. Every bit of it facinated her!
No doubt, her favorites were "It's a Small World,"

"The People Movers,"

"The Magic Carpet Ride"

and the NEW "Little Mermaid" ride.
(Which really is pretty fabulous, I might add...)

For the first time this year, we decided to eat at "Cinderella's Royal Table."

This, of course, is where you eat in Cinderella's castle...with all the princesses.

Again, it's a bit pricey, but it was pretty special...
and probably not something we'll do every year.

I can't tell you how wonderful it was to watch Ross enjoy this so much. It honestly brought me to tears a few times. I feel so fortunate that we have the opportunity to experience it with her every year.
It really was a great time...and a trip Ross will probably be talking about up until next year!

Weekend Trip to the Mountain House

Although we were originally supposed to spend the weekend in the mountains with the whole family, it ended up plans fell through...so Grady and I decided to take Ross anyway!

We ventured out to the very first Mast General Store...

where Ross was truly a "kid in a candy store!"

And, we had our first family gem mining experience.

It turned out to be such a sweet, little weekend...
one of our last as a family of 3.

Tuesday, May 22

A Little Vacay.

Grady and I and our good friends Mary Kathryn and Matthew took a little trip back to Miami last week... I'm ashamed I didn't take more pictures...

I guess I was a bit preoccupied with more important things...

Quick Trip to Charleston

At the last second, we decided to pick up and travel to Charleston Saturday night.

This was our first experience in a hotel room with Ross . . .
and luckily the room was spacious enough that it turned out great!

Grady and I have always loved shopping around downtown . . . and as long as there's ice cream involved, Ross loves anything.

Highlights From Disney

I guess I forgot to mention we were in Disney World all last week!
This annual tradition has become something we all look forward to... and it's been SO incredibly fun sharing it with Ross and the the whole family!

Although, I didn't get good pics of it, Ross was able to tell us her favorite ride this year was "Winnie the Pooh!"

We're already looking forward to next year!!

Tuesday, July 5

Hilton Head for the 4th!

I have to admit, I was a bit uneasy about bringing Ross out to the beach this weekend, based on our experience over spring break . . .

. . . as was she.

But, once she got a little more used to that "yucky" sand . . .

she seemed to actually like it . . . a little.

However, nothing could beat the watermelon.

Two big events that we always look forward to
over the 4th is dad's big fish fry . . .

. . . and the boat ride out of Harbor Town!

What a wonderful weekend!
We're just so grateful to have been a part of it all!
