(First Grade) Quote of the Day
I told the kids last week that I was having a baby, so this week has been filled with questions and concerns about what exactly is going on in there . . .
This was the conversation at the lunch table today . . .
Student 1: Mrs. Marsh, let me see your belly. Has it grown today? . . . wait a minute, I get it!! You eat your food, and the baby gets bigger and bigger!
Mrs. Marsh: That's right!
Student 2: Yeah, that's why Mrs. Marsh has to really chew her food up good.
You gotta love it!

The Nursery is ON!
I am most excited to get started on the nursery! I've gathered some ideas and am still working through them . . . but I have full intentions on keeping you updated as things progress.
You may have gathered from past posts that I tend to stay away from "traditional" when it comes to decorating. Although, I have seen some of the most beautiful baby rooms here and there, I just don't normally decorate with fancy, frilly things, and quite honestly, I have no intentions on starting now. In fact, the very thought of stressing over "boy colors" or "girl colors" makes me (even more) nauseous!
So, it only makes sense that I would create a gender neutral room . . .
My first step could very well be the hardest . . .
choosing the wall color.

This is my starting point.

(added tidbits: dresser is going, desks are staying)
I've got a lot of work ahead of me . . .
but it looks like this time Grady's going to be in on the action!
(Look, I'm not ashamed. I plan on using this to my full advantage.)

TODAY'S THE DAY! I'VE BEEN WAITING LONG ENOUGH!!!!!
There's never been a question in my mind that I wanted kids
( . . . still quite debatable exactly how many, but no question we wanted some).
After moving here and watching all the kids run around the neighborhood, I was excited to discover from a neighbor that evidently having children "is in the water . . ."
And, wouldn't you know it, they were right.

Let me tell you, I stared at those test results for one hour straight . . . just to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me. I walked away more than 10 times only to come right back to look at it again and again.
VERY impatiently, I waited on Grady to get home . . .

. . . and you better believe I was secretly there waiting with the camera for his very first reaction.
(I've never seen someone smile so much.)

I'm not so sure it's hit either of us how drastically our lives have just changed.
Sure, my wine glass hasregretfully gone back in the cabinet and Sushi Yoshi has been put on the back burner . . . but FOR GOODNESS SAKE, there's a whole new human being entering our lives! It's almost too incredible to imagine what is happening even this very moment!
There is no doubt, GOD IS GRAND!

AND . . . as if all this weren't exciting enough . . .
There's a nursery to be decorated. :)
