Edisto Beach

This weekend my Aiken girlfriends and I went down to Edisto for some serious laying around and doing nothing . . . exactly what we all needed!

Our Better Dog

Well, Salsa's one-on-one obedience classes have finally come to an end, so we thought it was due time for an update on how far she's come!

As you can see, we've happily moved on from the dinky, pink collar to a REAL collar. Seen in person, you may be frightened by the metal bars poking at her neck . . . but you have also never taken Salsa on a walk. This collar was by far the best purchase we have ever made for her.
She now walks at our side, not in front.

When we first started walking Salsa, she would lunge at cars as if they were some sort of play thing. She now not only remains by our side, but she moves to the grass out of the way!

"Sit" has a completely new meaning!

"Down"

And no matter what . . . "stay."
We're really proud of how far Salsa's come . . .
but being ADHD and EXTREMELY dominate will never change. Cesar was right when he told us exercise is key. She is honestly a different dog after a walk, and now I feel guilty and neglectful when I don't give her one.
She needs exercise!

At this point, we start focusing heavily on socialization. Apparently, Salsa believes she owns the world. Somehow it's up to us to break it to her that she doesn't.

Next step: group classes.
This will certainly be a challenge . . .

Vista Bound!

After a hearty meal at "Mellow Mushroom," we finally convinced the boys to check out "The Art Bar" once and for all! Much to their surprise, it turned out to be different that they imagined! Very artsy and eclectic, it was actually a place I may want to go again!

Next stop, "The Flying Saucer," where Erin, Amy and I found ourselves in quite the competitive game of darts against the boys!

Needless to say, it was the lastest we've been out in quite some time . . . . :)

Latest Find!

We've had an empty corner in our living room since we've moved in almost 2 years ago, and yesterday I found the most perfect piece to fill it! I've been meaning to go by the "ReStore" store for a while now, and I was simply beside myself the moment I walked in the door! I know many of you are thinking "EEWW! Salvation Army!" I have to tell you, you have no idea what you're missing!! Though, I'm not here to convince you to start going . . . because then, of course, you'll be my competition!

AHA! I couldn't be any more happy!
